woman tattoosThere are many women all over the world these days that have tattoos displayed across their bodies. At one time women who wore tattoos were looked down upon or they had a sense of rebellious to them. Over the past couple decades that mind of thought has completely changed.

Now it is said that there may be more women now in todays age getting tattoos than men. They usually tend to get ink for the first tome when a major change in her life has occured. Events such as getting pregant and having a child, getting married to the one you love, death of a family member, or even ending a relationship are a few common reasons women tend to get some ink to remember that time in their lives.

Girls tend to have physically smaller and more delicate bodies than those of a man. So because of this they usually have smaller more elagant tattoo designs and also are more decisive on where they place their tattoo. Most women are a lot more conscious than men when it comes down to deciding where and exactly what they would like to place on their body.

A few of the most comomonly areas of the body to stretch include the buttocks, breast, and stomach.

The most popular/common areas of the body for women to place their tattoo are on their lower back, ankle, butt cheek, belly button area, breast area, shoulder blade,  back of neck, etc. Some of the most popular designs for girls to get in these areas include butterfly, star, angel, fairy, tribal tattoo, dragonfly, rose, flower and hearts. Most of these designs will have some sort of a significant meaning for the woman it is on.

Here are a few common tattoos and some meanings behind them:

Star: These tattoos are very popular not only for women but among many men as well. There are several different kinds of stars including the shooting star, nautical star,  and the pentagram. A regular pentagram will symbolize protection from evil while a reverse one will represent satanism and evil.
